Isle of Capri
Our private English speaking guide will meet you at the Naples port and they will take you to the Pier “molo”. You will then take the hydrofoil to the Isle of Capri, an island off of the Sorrentine Peninsula revered for its beauty since ancient times. Upon your arrival, you will take in breathtaking sea views as you climb by private car to Anacapri. Along the way to the island’s highest point you will see many impressive villas. Among them is that of Dr. Axel Munthe, a Swedish doctor and author of Story of San Michele, a book that details his time on Capri. A beautiful lookout over the island is Dr. Munthe’s villa which was built with the remains of Roman villas. From Anacapri, you will continue back down to the city of Capri where you can roam on the medieval style cobblestone streets and venture into the charming shops full of jewelry, artisan pieces, and clothing. You will have some free time to explore some of the highlights of the island: the main square, Piazza Umberto, the views of the limestone Faraglioni, and the Marina Piccola. Or you may prefer to sit at a cafe or on the beach, relax and simply experience the beauty of this small, but incredibly rich island. At the end of your tour of Capri, you will be returned to the Naples port and your ship.
