You will visit the Islands of Burano and Murano by private boat. In 1291 furnaces were banned from Venice and therefore the glassware manufacturers were moved to the Island of Murano. Glassware was an important Venetian export and the glass artisans were allowed to marry into the nobility and benefit from a privileged life. Today in Murano on your visit to one of the workshops you will be able to see the beautiful works that are still being created. Next you will go to the Island of Burano to see beautiful brightly painted houses. The island is known for its exquisite lace making. Take time exploring the many workshops and then return to your ship after the tour.
