Capri
Enjoy a magnificent day on the lively and picturesque Island of Capri. Take in the splendid views of the blue waters of the Bay of Naples. You will be transferred to the pier with your private guide, where you will take the ferry across the Bay of Naples. You will take the Funicular to Capri upon arrival at the Marina Grande. From here take a visit with a private car to the highest point on the Island for a panoramic view. Continue to Anacapri where you will see Dr. Axel Munthe’s, a Swedish doctor, fabulous Villa, who wrote about his time on Capri in his bestselling book Story of San Michele. His villa was constructed from the remains of Roman ruins. There is a gorgeous shady garden with a terrace offering a wonderful view of the island. Return back down to Capri, which is very chic with shops, restaurants, and hotels lining the twisting streets. In the main square, Piazza Umberto, you can sit and watch the world drift by at a pretty white church and several open-air cafes. Leading off the square are arcades and medieval looking alleyways full of shops selling the island’s handicrafts such as coral and gold jewelry, clothing, ceramics and shoes. Marvel at the colorful gardens of Augustus overlooking Marina Piccola where Gracie Fields once lived and the famed Faraglioni Rocks. Use your free to go off and admire the elegant boutiques, stroll along the cobblestoned streets or merely relax on the beach. There is so much to do and see on this tiny island. Return to Sorrento by ferry.
